Voter groups
Under the tab “Voter Groups,” you will have the option of creating one or more voter groups. You will always need at least one voter group to create voters. It is possible to import voter groups while importing voters. It is also possible to make voter groups manually first and then map voters to your manually-created voter groups during the import voters process.
Click “+ New” and give the group a name. You can also indicate which contests/ballots the voter group should have access to so that they may vote on them.
When you create a new voter group, you will find the following items to set up:
Title: Name of the voter group.
Reference: Unique reference for each voter group. It is auto-generated if left blank.
Contest ids: Here, you can decide which ballots/contests should be made available for the voter group for casting ballots. You can choose the contests individually by checking the corresponding boxes next to them or use the “select all/deselect all” buttons.
Voting seats enabled (this is a feature flag): When enabled, this function allows you to set a threshold of how many voters within the specific voter group can vote in a specific ballot.
After creating the voter group, you can see an overview of this voter group, including:
the number of voters in this group,
the contests/ballots in which they can vote, and
how many of the voters are real and how many are demo voters.
If you haven’t made any ballots yet or will make more later, you can map the contests/ballots to voter groups further on in the process here or from the Contest configuration tab.
Edit voter group
You may edit the voter groups at any point. However, the reference field cannot be changed after creating the voter group (a Reference will be auto generated if the field is left blank).
To edit a voter group, click on the specific voter group in the overview, and then click on .
Delete voter group
A voter group may be deleted. It is important to note that, should you delete a voter group which has voters attached, the voters will be without a valid voter group and you will need to assign them to an existing voter group. Voters cannot be without a voter group while an election is ongoing.
