Voter Guide: Verify Your Vote
This guide (including a video tutorial) provides you with an overview of how to do the vote verification from the voter’s perspective. If you wish to share this with your voters, you can find a PDF version and a Word version below. The Word version allows you to replace the images with your own branded ones.
Before logging in to the election, enable the vote verification by clicking on the “Vote verification” toggle at the bottom of the login page.
Now you should log in and select your choice in the ballot. After confirming your vote choice, you will get the options of either casting the ballot or testing its content.
Scan the QR with another device, or click the link under it to open it on another browser window, to be redirected to the Election Verification Site (EVS), an external vote verification page.
You should now have two pages opened (either on separate devices or different browser windows): the voting page from where you cast the vote, and the EVS page. Do not close them!
From the voting page again, click “Test ballot”. Both the EVS and the voting pages will now display a code each. Compare the two codes against each other.
If the two codes match, click the green “Does match” button in the voting page. Go back to the EVS page to verify the contents of your ballot.
Now that you have viewed the contents of the ballot, go back to the voting page and click “Return to voting”.
If the choices shown in the EVS page match the choices you made initially, simply click “Confirm choices” followed by “Cast ballot”. Otherwise, click “Modify choices” and select your choice.
Your vote has now been cast. Click on “Download receipt” to get a PDF proof of your vote containing a tracking code of your ballot.
