How to set up an email template for a Live Conference election

 

 

By using templates, you are able to send voting credentials to your voters via email and SMS. Before testing the election, you need to first set up an email template to allow voters to access their ballots. This section will explain how you can up such an email template. 

  1. Go to the “Templates” tab on the menu to the left. 

  2. Here, you will see an overview of created templates. Create a new template by clicking the “+” button on the right.

  1. Create a new email template by choosing “Email” from the dropdown menu. 

  2. In the “Name” field, write in “Login Info.” This will only be visible to you as a system user so that you can tell the templates apart.

  3. Under “Subject,” insert the title of the email your voters will receive; write “Here is the login information for Election 2024.”

  4. Write the following text in the “Message” field, using the injectable voter attributes you see to the right of the message box:

Explainer on the injectable attributes used:

%{name} inserts the name of the voter into the email template.

%{election_code_1} inserts the auto-generated election code that the voter will need to login to the election event into the email template.

%{login_link} inserts a link in the email template to the election event so the voter can sign in and participate in the election.

  1. Click “Create template” when done. You now have an Email template ready to send out to your voters.
