How to set up slides
It is now time to create slides for your election. These slides will serve as the visual presentation which your voters will see when the election event is live. Through these slides, they will be able to follow along with the meeting and cast their votes. There are two types of slides in the system: presentation slides and ballot slides. An election event may have several slides of both types.
Go to the “Slides” tab in the menu to the left.
Start by clicking on the “+ Create presentation slide” button to create a new presentation slide.
Under “Title,” write “Welcome to the Election”.
Under “Description,” write “You have successfully signed in. We are waiting for a vote to begin.”
Click “Create Slide” at the bottom of the page to save the changes and create the new slide.
*We recommend that you start the election event with a presentation slide before you create your ballot slides.
Now, add a ballot after the first slide by clicking on the “+ Insert new slide here” button.
Select “Ballot slide” from the dropdown menu, to create a new ballot slide.
In the “Title” field, write “Test Vote.”
In the “Description” field, write “It is time to vote on the following ballot.”
The “Identifiable” item should be left toggled off/disabled (grey) to make sure that the voters and their votes are anonymous. When “Identifiable” is toggled on/enabled (blue), you as a system user will be able to see who voted in what manner in the output file.
Leave “Recasting” toggled on/enabled (blue). This means the voters are able to vote as many times as they wish, with only the last vote submitted being that one that counts. With “Recasting” toggled off/disabled (grey), your voter can only vote once and cannot access the ballot once they have finished voting.
Select the “Example vote” contest under “Available.” It will move over to “Selected.” The setup should look like the following image:
Finally, click “Create Slide” at the bottom to create the ballot slide.
If you wish to edit any of your slides, simply click on the one you want to make changes to and click . Make your desired changes and then hit “Update Slide” at the bottom of the page to save the changes. You can also delete a slide by hitting the red trash can button.
Once you are done creating the slides, you can preview them by simply clicking on the slide you want to see.
Additionally, by clicking on the green “Open ballot” button, you can see a preview of how the ballot will appear to the voters. If you have several contests in a slide, you can also interact with the ballot to review them all.
Up to this point, you have configured the election, imported voter data, and created contests as well as slides. The next step is to then set up your communication templates so that you can share important information regarding the election with your voters.
