How to create and import identities
Identities hold information about your user and can be used to authenticate and authorize them through potential identity providers. There are two ways of adding identities to the Candidacy event. The first way is through manually creating individual identities and the second is through importing a spreadsheet file containing the identities’ information. The creation/importation of identities is also directly tied to the identity form; without an identity form, you cannot create or import identities. Refer back to section How to set up forms to learn how to set up an identity form.
The manual creation of an identity is a quick way to create a few identities if you need to test the candidacy system (or in case of missing identities being discovered at the last minute). To get started, you will first need to make a group.
1.1. Creating a group
To create a group, go to the “Groups” tab in the menu to the left.
Click on the “+ Create group” button to create a new group.
Fill in the name “Demo” in the “Internal name” and “Title” fields of the group.
Click on the “Create Group” button to save the configuration.
Repeat this process and create two other groups called “A” and “B.”
Groups may be edited at any time by clicking on the icon next to the group you wish to edit, . Here, you can change the name of the group.
You now have created a group and you can proceed to create identities.
1.2. Creating an identity
Go to the “Identities” item on the left-hand side menu and click on it.
Click “+ Create identity“ to start creating an individual identity.
You are now presented with all of the fields available for the identity, each of which you will need to fill out manually. Fill out each of the fields in the following manner:
All fields may be edited later on if necessary.
Click on the “Create Identity” button when you have filled in all of the required information to create the identity.
The identity has now been created, and the page you are on should display information about the identity. This information can be edited by clicking on the “Edit” symbol, .
Finally, click on the “Identities” tab in the left-hand side menu to go back to an overview of the identities. You can now see the identity you previously created appear on the page of the identity overview.
