Create, edit, and delete a voter
To add or create a new voter manually, click on and select “New Voter.”
Now, you can fill in the following information:
Identifier: This is a unique ID number which the system auto generates when the field is left blank.
Name
Email
Mobile number: Write the country code(s) starting with the “+” sign and then add the phone number. If you only write the phone number, the system will assume there is an error (as the default phone number format is the 8 number Danish one).
Election Code
Public key: Go to Public keys to read more about this feature.
Voter group: This is the voter group to which this voter belongs to.
Weight: This is the weight of a voter’s vote. The minimum weight is set at 1.
Participating
If the “Sign up” feature is enabled in the Configuration of the election, this information will be updated automatically based on the voter’s answers when signing up.
You may also manually choose “Participating,” “Not participating,” or “No answer.”
Voter segments
If segments were created in the Configuration of the election (see more here), then under each voter there will be new extra text fields. See the example bellow:
Enabled: Choose whether the voter should be able to access the election at any point (“Enabled”) or not (“Disabled”).
If “Sign up” is required, a voter will both have to be “Participating” and “Enabled.”
Demo voter: Go to Demo voter to read more about this field.
Refrain from using sensitive personal information when necessary. Try to use a unique value as an identifier, such as a birthdate or employee number, to make it easier to identify the voter. The voter’s information can always be edited later. However, remember that the identifier can no longer be changed once the voter is created.
Once you have created a voter, you will be able to see an overview of their information, as displayed below. Additionally, in each voter’s information overview, there will be an option to send them an email and/or an SMS individually. In order to send out an individual email or SMS, you need to make sure you have a template ready first. Please refer to the following guides for more information: Create a template &Send out campaigns: individual and mass.

By clicking the “magnifying glass” icon,, next to a voter, you will be directed to their voter data overview. Here, you can access more information about them and may edit a specific voter by clicking on
on the voter’s overview page.
The election code(s) will be, per standard, hidden. You may reveal election codes if necessary, but note that any such action will be logged in the audit log.
You may also send an individual email and/or SMS to the voter if you have made email and/or SMS templates. This can be helpful when an individual voter requires support.
You may edit the following voter details by clicking :
Identifier: After the voter is created, you are no longer able to edit their identifier. This is a unique identifier number and ideally should not include any sensitive and/or personal information.
Name: The name of the voter can be changed at any point and will affect the injectable attribute in any campaigns you send out.
Email: The email can be changed as needed. This can be beneficial when aiding voters, particularly if the email address is incorrect or the voter would prefer to use a secondary email for voting purposes.
Mobile number: The number can be changed as needed, something which may useful when a voter may need credentials to be sent via SMS.
Election Code(s) 1-3: These are automatically generated by Electa when you first leave the relevant fields blank, though you are able to edit them at any point. However, we recommend that you do not edit the election codes after you have already started an election, particularly if the voter has already received a specific set of election codes.
Public Key(s) 1-3: These are automatically generated by Electa when you leave the corresponding fields blank. You may edit them at any later point.
Voter group: The voter group to which a voter belongs may be changed later if necessary.
Weight: A voter’s weight may be changed at any point.
Participating: You can change the voter’s participation status if this information is known. This will only have an effect if you have been using the Sign up module for the election event in the Configuration. This is only valid for Live Conference Voting.
Segments: Each segment can be edited on the individual voter page.
*Note: If a voter has already voted, the new segment information will not be present in the turnout statistics until the voter votes again.
Enabled: You are able to permit or disallow a voter’s participation.
Demo voter: You are able to deem a voter as a “demo voter” by checking the box.
You can save the changes by clicking “Update voter” or cancel the changes by clicking “Cancel.” Alternatively you can also delete the voter by clicking the “delete voter”button.
