Summary (Candidacy)

Summary (Candidacy)

The Candidacy’s “Summary” page gives you an overview of the candidacy’s setup and resources.

  • Under the “Setup” section, you can see the candidacy’s slug, locale(s), and any forms along with when the candidacy was set up and/or last edited. You can edit these items by clicking on the Screenshot 2024-09-10 at 15.06.20.png edit button.

  • In the “Resources” area, you can see all of the identities, groups, and candidates in the candidacy as well as any elections the candidacy is linked to.

Slug: This is a unique part of the Candidacy’s URL link. You may customize this, but be aware that you may only use letters and numbers (A-Z, a-z, 0-9, - and _). Leave this blank if you wish to auto-generate a slug.

Login required: When this feature is enabled, anyone visiting the candidacy site is required to be signed in.

Locales: A locale corresponds to the supported frontend language, or what language end-users will see upon logging in and using the candidacy site. You are able to choose as many locales as needed for your candidacy from the list provided.

*When you choose multiple locales, the system will allow the end-users to choose their display language on the frontend. This also means that the system will add text fields for each locale you select. You will then need to provide a translation for every language/locale for every editable text field in the system. This is crucial for the candidacy to run and work properly.

Title: This field is not mandatory and can be configured again at a later point.

Delete candidacy: This button will delete the candidacy and everything within it permanently. We generally do not recommend deleting a candidacy due the potential for data loss.

Copy candidacy: This button allows you to duplicate an entire candidacy setup, with all of its elements and configurations, or copy a candidacy with only selected configurations. You may choose which elements to copy.

  • Note that no sensitive data will be transferred (no data content for created accounts, identities, or candidates will be copied).

  • Export to importable .zip file: This feature will copy the candidacy’s configuration to a zipped file, which can later be imported into the system to create a new candidacy.

    • Remember to toggle all the relevant settings to be exported before clicking the “Begin copying…” button. Once the export is done, you will receive a download link in your email or you can download directly from the “Download file” button.

    • Read more on how to import an election file here.

Export candidates: This button will download a .json file containing information provided by all approved candidates when registering as candidates. This file is used to import candidates as a ballot in an election event. Check the guide Import a contest for more information on importing a ballot.

We generally do not recommend clearing a candidacy if it can be avoided, as you risk losing potentially important data.
