Statistics Service
The statistics service is a tool used to track the progression of the election while it is ongoing. As a user, you may access the statistics service from the frontend drop down menu item entitled “Statistics frontend.”
The statistics service is publicly accessible, meaning that anyone with the link can view the content of the site. It is updated with the latest vote totals every 5 minutes. The site is available in the locales which were selected when the election was initially set up. The statistics service cannot be removed, hidden, or protected behind a username and password.
The statistics service frontend collects and displays data per individual voting round and will list the different voting rounds of the election and their status. Click on the voting round you wish to review to gain access to the specific statistical content for that round.
For each voting round, you may obtain information about the election in the following ways:
Overview: This is a table which sums up data from the election. It includes the items “Eligibles,” “Votes,” and “Participation.”
Eligibles: The number of eligible voters subscribed to the voting round.
Votes: The number of submitted votes in the voting round.
Participation: The percentage of eligible voters who have voted in the voting round.
Progression: This graph provides an overview of the progression of the number of votes received (Y-axis) over the number of election days (X-axis).
The blue line is the total number of votes submitted on a given day. The red line is the cumulative total of submitted votes over time.
By hour: This is a bar chart displaying the number of votes cast at each hour of the day, giving the viewer an idea of when the most popular time for voting is.
Segments
If the election has been set up to use segments (read how to do this here), the statistics service will show each segment as a menu item on the statistics breakdown over the voting round. Segments is an add-on feature which can be added to your subscription plan if requested. It is not available as part of the standard package.
Each segment category will show the following:
Category name
Amount of Eligibles in the category (Label: Eligibles)
Amount of submitted votes in the category (Label: Votes)
Category’s participation percentage (Label: Participation)
